BIRTHDAY SPA WEEKEND

As you can see I have recently revamped this blog to make it look more classy and sophisticated.  I also changed the name and I'm so happy with it.
Recently I celebrated my 18th birthday with my friend at Sopwell House as a little treat to ourselves.  Upon arrival the large, white building looked so pretty amongst the bright pink flowers.  There was a bit of confusion with our booking initially but after that it was plain sailing and we had the most lovely time.  We had a package deal so included was dinner, a treatment, breakfast, lunch and accommodation which was convenient so we didn't have to worry about paying separately.

Our room was upgraded which was a nice touch and so luxurious.  It also included two Clarins skincare sets which was unexpected.

We were also welcomed with water and a Happy Birthday message written in chocolate.  I really felt that the staff went above and beyond to make it the most enjoyable and lovely experience.

The view from our room was of the beautiful gardens and outdoor seating area in which a wedding was actually taking place the day before.

After the gorgeous facials we treated ourselves to cocktails in the cocktail lounge which was highly sophisticated and fancy.  I had an English Garden which is gin based with apple and lime twist.  It was so light and delicate and a perfect way to round off the evening.

Breakfast and lunch were buffet style which we took great advantage of but dinner was properly served, sit down style.  I was a little bit obsessed with the mini chocolate mousses (pictured below) which were so creamy and delish.  All the food was very good quality and full of flavour.

This was such a lovely and relaxing break and it was so nice to get away for a couple of days and just have a bit of mindfulness.  I think it is so important to have times like this away to just gather your thoughts and be with friends.  I feel like the service at Sopwell House was really friendly and helpful and I would highly recommend it to anybody and I will definitely be visiting again.

DAY OUT IN BRIGHTON

I went on a uni visit to Brighton recently and at lunch time me and my mum drove to the beach which, although wasn't sandy, was comfortable to sit on and we admired the pier and it was really cool to be there.

This beautiful Cathedral we saw when we were driving through Brighton and it looked so fancy and grand.

I loved the town and we walked past so many little cute shops but we didn't have a lot of time so we mostly just sat on the beach and ate our sandwiches!  Therefore I need to go again because it is so picturesque.

ASPIRATIONS

Yesterday I travelled to London for a University fair.  On the way there me and my friend were discussing how we don't really feel ready for uni and how so much has changed within a year.  This time last year I was doing my GCSE's and now I have done my AS levels which to me is a massive leap and this year has gone by super quick.  I think it is very difficult to know what you want to do when you are older and that for many people is the case.  I have always had a general idea of what I wanted to do and it has always been on a similar path; when I was about 10 I really wanted to be an author and I would write short stories and massive chapters but I would never finish them.  At the age of about 12 I really wanted to work in a magazine because I had seen the glamorous lifestyles in films and really wanted to go to New York.  To this day that is still a dream and something I will do but for now I have to be realistic with goals and take things step by step.

There are a few things which I would like to achieve by this time next year and on this exact day I will write an updated one to see how far I have come.  So here are my ambitions for the future.

Blog more
I find blogging therapeutic, however I am not able to always find time or I have bloggers block.  I find blogging an enjoyable experience and something I want to be proud of when published, so I would rather have a few posts that I feel amazing about than loads that I feel are okay but I'm doing it for the sake of it.  It is not something that can be forced or should be for that matter but I feel as though due to exams and things I haven't found time to do so but I will try to upload more posts.

Sleep more
This is a big factor for me and I find that if I go to bed late (which is every night oops...) I wake up with the darkest under eye bags you have ever seen so I will attempt to sleep more especially around school/exam time when stress levels are high.

Stress less
I stress A LOT.  It is something that is unnecessary most of the time like doing the most simplest of things and I get nervous and work myself up when really, it is not that bigger of a deal.  So future me, STOP STRESSING.

   Be more confident
I worry a lot about a ton of different things and normally I feel like I can't ask questions or speak to a large group of people because I get really nervous but I'm going to try and be brave.

Push myself
I am going to try and push myself at least once a month to do something I wouldn't ordinarily do and go a little bit outside my comfort zone whether that be in terms of wearing something I wouldn't normally, or go somewhere I wouldn't go if I wasn't trying to push myself because I think it will open me up to new experiences.

What are your goals for next year?

I'M ON TOP OF THE WORLD...

Hi, I know I have been very absent of late but hopefully as summer is coming up I will be able to blog a lot more after my exams.  Anyway, hello to you reader and friend, yes you slumped over your laptop in the dark reading endless blog posts and stumbling across this one.  Recently, I got to meet some of my favourite celebs in London so I thought that I would share this experience with you.

Kate and Wills looked very regal

Personally I think Johnny Depp is not only one of my fave actors but he was the best waxwork that there was there.

We went to Harrods quickly (I say quickly- we spent about 2 hours looking at handbags) after Madame Tussauds but I did not take any pictures of that as I did not feel it was necessary because I think it is something to be marvelled at in your own time and I don't think I could have captured the same beauty in a photo.

I did however take pictures of the London Eye which is where we ventured to at about 7pm.  This was the second time I have been on there, and I can honestly say that I never get tired of it because it is so breathtaking.  Before, I went in the daytime now I have to say that I much preferred it this time round because last time it was raining and grey skies were forming so you couldn't really see much which was disappointing.  However this time, because it was in the late afternoon/evening, all the lights in London were turned on which looked amazing and super pretty and I do honestly think this is the best time to go as you can still see the buildings and your photos do not turn out to just be a mixture of grainy black with blurry lights (we've all been there).

I had a really great time with my family and it was lovely to spend the day in London as we do not go there very often, so it is always a treat!

A WINTER WALK

On a cold boxing day we decided, mid-morning to venture into the woods for a walk before lunch.  Along the way I took a few pictures because  thought the woods looked so pretty with the sunlight coming through the trees.  I remember when I was younger, we used to go for quite a few walks in the woods and so now I pretty much know my way around them.
